MYMIC Training Technologies was a big presence this past weekend at the Naval STEM Exposition. The Naval STEM Exposition is filled with young middle and high school students who show a great deal of interest in the Navy and Maritime career field. This exposition is perfect platform for young students to get a better understanding of all the opportunities that are available. MYMIC Training Technologies set up an exhibit that showed off the virtual reality capabilities by giving people a chance to demo our Ship Familiarization tour, using the Oculus Rift, that was created for APL. This was a big hit, generating lengthy lines by people eager to try it out. The interactive activities for people did not stop there, also available to demo was the Tango Tablet. The Tango Tablet showed off the augmented reality technology by allowing people to interact with with the 3D models of equipment such as fighter jets and trucks. Also on display from MYMIC Training Technologies was the Interactive Poster. The Interactive Poster is unique technology created by MYMIC, it brings posters to life with the use of a smartphone or tablet. Examples of the Poster were he Sexual Assault and Harassment created for the SOCP, Fuel Oil, and the Ship Tour. The final opportunity for people to interact with MYMIC’s exhibit was with the Fire Safety Training. The fire safety training is an interactive training on how to use a fire extinguisher. The course follows the P.A.S.S technique. Users who pass receive a certificate acknowledging their accomplishment. The Naval STEM Exposition is a great platform to inspire and educate the middle and high school kids interested in the Navy and Maritime Industries.
